Narrative Humor
A place to read humorous stories
About
Narrative Humor is run by Robert McGee, an English teacher and a writer living in Germany. He has written comedy and short stories for The American Bystander, Points in Case, Little Old Lady Comedy, Robot Butt, Literally Stories, and a number of other places around the web or on paper (a list of Rob's words can be found here). He started Narrative Humor because there are few places around that publish comedic, narrative fiction or non-fiction. Sure, there are literary magazines that say they like humor, that say they publish comedy, but they almost never do, and when they do, it's almost never funny. There are exceptions to this rule of course (and you know who you are and you know that we love you), but not enough exceptions for there to be no space for a literary journal like this one.
At least, let's hope so.
This is a bit of an experiment. Maybe one of the reasons there aren't many sites like this one is that people don't like to read funny literature. Or, maybe writing funny literature is just too hard and we won't get enough submissions to keep people interested in what we are doing.
We shall see.
